The incident comes only days after a separate and still-unidentified animal was recorded on surveillance video attacking a man in Lebanon.
Authorities in Marlborough say a gray fox that may have had rabies attacked two people on Saturday and was later killed so it could be examined by state wildlife officials.
Police were sent to Route 12 after reports that the animal had bitten two people and was creating a hazard for drivers. When an officer arrived, the fox was seen lashing out at stopped vehicles, striking tires, bumpers and other exterior parts.
The fox’s body is being turned over to New Hampshire Fish and Game for testing.
