Authorities say Eddy repeatedly assaulted a child he knew during a span from July to September 2025.
Russell Eddy, 60, is scheduled to go before a jury next month on charges that include two counts of aggravated felony sexual assault and three counts of felony sexual assault.
Authorities say Eddy repeatedly assaulted a child he knew during a span from July to September 2025. Winchester police took him into custody on Sept. 20, 2025, after the child came forward, according to an affidavit filed by Winchester Police Officer Brianna Rogers.
Eddy previously worked as a janitor for Winchester School, though the allegations described in the affidavit were not tied to the school. Winchester School District Superintendent David Ryan has said Eddy had been employed by the district since 2014 and was placed on leave on Sept. 22, 2025, after police shared information with the district. Ryan was not immediately available Monday to discuss Eddy’s employment status.
Jury selection is scheduled for Aug. 17.
