The project, known as the 802 Homes catalog, is being developed by the Vermont Department of Housing and Community Development with AARP Vermont and Utile Architects. It includes predesigned options that range from compact single-family houses to small multifamily buildings, with each concept shaped to fit the look and scale of existing Vermont neighborhoods.
Before the designs are finalized, the state is holding a series of public workshops for older Vermonters and other community members. Organizers want input on whether the plans feel safe, accessible, practical and affordable.
The first session is set for Thursday at 405 Pine Street in Burlington. Two online workshops are also planned for July 16 and July 20.
