Brattleboro, Vt. has entered a new chapter in its law enforcement as Chief Norma Hardy officially stepped down on Monday after four years of service. In her place, Jeremy Evans has been inaugurated as the new police chief, with Captain Adam Petlock assuming the role of assistant chief.
During her tenure, Hardy played a pivotal role in several initiatives aimed at enhancing public safety, including the development of One Brattleboro, the Downtown Safety Action Plan, and the Brattleboro Resource Assistance Team. The Town Manager, John Potter, expressed deep appreciation for Hardy's contributions to the community, noting her efforts in establishing a model for collaborative public safety in smaller towns.
Hardy plans to focus on personal time with her family, pursue her passion for writing poetry, and share her knowledge by mentoring younger officers.
