Police said Buker was discovered conscious on Route 12 after a vehicle struck him and left the scene.
Authorities have identified the bicyclist injured Wednesday in a hit-and-run on Route 12 as Steven Buker of North Walpole.
Walpole Police Chief Justin Sanctuary said Buker was discovered conscious on Route 12, just north of the Route 123 intersection, after a vehicle struck him and left the scene. The collision occurred around 12:30 p.m., police said.
Sanctuary said Buker’s injuries were considered non-life-threatening. He was transported by ambulance to Springfield Hospital in Vermont. As of Friday afternoon, a hospital communications representative was not immediately available to provide an update on his condition.
Police are continuing to look for the driver involved and are asking anyone with information or who witnessed the crash to contact Officer Adam Howard at the Walpole Police Department, 603-355-2000.
