Sharon Man Arrested After Motorcycle Chase in Marlborough and Dublin

Police said a dirt bike stopped after running out of fuel.

A Saturday night traffic stop in Cheshire County ended with the arrest of an 18-year-old Sharon man after police say he rode off on a dirt bike and sparked a pursuit through Marlborough and Dublin.

Authorities said the incident started at about 8:16 p.m. on Aug. 29 when a Marlborough officer on overtime patrol, supported by the New Hampshire Office of Highway Safety, noticed a pack of motorcycles heading west on Route 101 near Roxbury Road. Police said two of the bikes were going faster than the speed limit. When officers tried to intervene, three of the five riders allegedly took off.

One of the riders was identified by police as Carson Traffie, 18, of Sharon, who was allegedly operating a red 2024 Honda 450 dirt bike. According to police, he turned around near Route 124 and then continued east on Route 101 toward Dublin.

The chase continued at high speed before ending near Old County Road, where police said the motorcycle stopped after running out of fuel. Traffie was then taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Cheshire County House of Corrections. He faces felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor disobeying an officer, misdemeanor resisting arrest and reckless operation, a violation.

Keene Towing removed the bike from the scene. Police said Traffie was later released after posting cash bail.

Marlborough police are still investigating and want help identifying the other riders who left the stop. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Marlborough Police Department.
